Dr. David E. Eskelin graduated from the police chaplain training program at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC). Using its range of training programs, the commission teaches community members like Dr. David E. Eskelin to become better leaders.
WSCJTC was founded in 1974. Its purpose is to guarantee standards and offer training and certification to professionals involved in the criminal justice system. These include local corrections officers and peace officers.
The programs allow top researchers and experts throughout the United States to create novel strategies and benefit from the best and latest methodologies. The training helps community leaders to develop partnerships with some of the regional and national leaders of Washington State.
The training programs include topics like animal control, child abuse, crisis intervention, crime prevention, ground survival tactics, and FBI basic crime scene processing and forensics. As one of the few states that offers these kinds of programs, Washington States seeks to guarantee that each officer has quality, consistent training from 14 commissioners chosen by the governor.
